The University of Ibadan has announced an adjustment in levies for both returning and new students, along with an increase in charges for accommodation, and studio and laboratory practicals.
This change is outlined in separate documents detailing the revised fee structure for both returning and new enrollees.
Truth Live News understands that the decision to raise the fees stems from the university’s financial difficulties arising from reduced government funding and the escalating operational expenses prompted by inflation.
Recall that the development also come on the heels of the fact that the university administration had previously communicated the proposed fee hike to student representatives and other stakeholders during a meeting held in the previous month.
This development aligns with a prevailing pattern of educational institutions in Nigeria responding to economic pressures by revising their fee schedules.
