There seems to be no end in sight as to the current political feud between the Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu as he, Shaibu was today, conspicuously missing at the 84th birthday ceremony of the Super Permanent Secretary, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, organized by the state governor, to mark his (Oyegun) birthday in Benin City.
The birthday afforded the state governor to name a building, John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA), after him.
The ceremony saw the who-is-who in the Edo State political, public and private sector.
These two best friends that have become sworn enemies to each other, have caused citizens to start wondering how long this act of not seeing each other face-to-face, will last.
Many said the event would have been complete, if the deputy governor was present.
Concerted citizens of the state are also expressing worry over the statement of the governor where he alleged that his deputy was planning a coup against his government.
Present at the event were Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Osarodion Ogie, Secretary to the Edo State Government, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, members of the State House of Assembly, Chief Medical Director of University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) and others.
