Chief (Pa) Joshua Robert Ukap, turned 130 last Sunday. This puzzle makes him the first known centenarian ever to have celebrated crossroads in a ground style.
Chief Ukap who is believed to be the oldest person in the state celebrated his 130th birthday on August 6, 2023.
Pa Ukap, the Village Head of Ikot Ukap in Ndiya, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, was born in 1893, celebrated his new age with a thanksgiving service attended by family, friends, and community members.
As his habit, Pa Ukap who is known for showering prayers of blessings to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was said to have married three wives of whom two are late.

“He is a great source of advice for the young and old. He is a true inspiration to all who know him, and he is a living treasure for the Akwa Ibom community,” family members said.
The centenarian is still mentally sharp and physically active. He can walk without assistance, and he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is a devout Christian, and he attends church services regularly.
He has lived through many historical events, including the British colonial era, the Nigerian Civil War, and the rise of the oil industry in the Niger Delta.
Chief Ukap’s birthday celebration was a joyous occasion, and it was a time for people to come together and celebrate his long and remarkable life.
