The Department of State Services (DSS) has exposed fresh plot by terrorists to launch an attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train.
DSS raised the alarm in a leaked letter signed by DSS Director of FCT Command, R.N. Adepemu.
Truth Live News gathered that the letter titled, ‘Security Alert: Impending Threat By A Coalition Of Banditry Syndicate To Attack Abuja-Kaduna Train Service Along AKTS Corridor’ was cited by Leadership newspapers.
The DSS cautioned train passengers to be extra vigilant saying there’s an “impending threat to seamless train transportation along the Abuja – Kaduna Train Service (AKTS).”
According to the leaked memo, a coalition of banditry syndicate was plotting to attack the Abuja-Kaduna train aimed at kidnapping passengers on board for ransom any moment from now.
“In view of the threat inherent and the need to forestall likely breach of security along the AKTS, it is advised that, existing security arrangements be scaled up within and along the route, the memo read.
Recall that the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) had briefly suspended but later resumed operations along the Abuja–Kaduna route following an attack on the train in Katari village, Kaduna State on Monday, March 28, 2022.
During the attack, several passengers were killed and scores kidnapped and we’re later released after payment of ransom.
