Lucky Obukohwo Reporting
President Bola Tinubu has finally bowed to pressure and has reassigned portfolio to Engr. Abubakar Momoh, the only ministerial nominee from Edo and others.
Truth Live News reports that Momoh was earlier made the minister of Youth and this drew criticisms from across the country especially Edo State which he is representing considering his age and profession as an engineer.
Nigerians reacted negatively that the choice of person for that position was not a square peg in a square hole at all.
They wondered what a man well over 60 years is possibly doing in the ministry of Youth.
They said, he should have been assigned a portfolio relating to his career choice or close to it and certainly not Youth because he is not a youth.
Truth Live News further gathered that the reshuffling of the portfolios by President Bola Tinubu has shown that he listens to criticisms and he is willing to make amend when necessary and possibly put the square peg in a square hole.
However, according to the State House Press Release signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale and made available to Truth Live News, says that President Bola Tinubu has approved the redeployment of Engr. Abubakar Momoh from the Federal Ministry of Youth to the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Development.
The statement added that the Federal Ministry of Youth is to be re-assigned to a Minister-Designate soon.
Truth Live News gathered that this development has pleased the minds of the Edo people.
It stated that the Ministers-Designate allocated to the Federal Ministries of Transportation, Interior, and Marine & Blue Economy have been reshuffled as follows, H.E. Adegboyega Oyetola, redeployed as the Honourable Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, redeployed as the Honourable Minister of Interior while Hon. Sa’idu Alkali is redeployed as the Honourable Minister of Transportation.
Furthermore, it stated that both Ministers of State in the Oil and Gas sector are now domiciled in the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources with the following designations: vis-a-vis Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, Hon. Minister of State (Oil), Petroleum Resources, Hon. Ekperipe Ekpo, Hon. Minister of State (Gas), Petroleum Resources
The statement further said that the President approves the renaming of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management as the Federal Ministry of Environment, pointing out that all aforementioned changes take immediate effect by these directives of the President.
Consequently upon this, Nigerians are optimistic that the president might be able to write his name in the sand of time if he can also address other teething problems in the country and make life better for all.
