Just In: (Video) Many Feared D3ad As Storey Building Collapses In Abuja

A number of individuals have been killed and several others trapped after a multi-storey building collapsed in Lagos Street in Garki village, part of Garki Il district of Abuja on Wednesday night, August 23.

The impacted building is said to have many apartments in it, including stores on the ground floor.

Meanwhile, a Facebook user and former adviser to the FCT’s immediate previous Minister, Ikharo Attah, reported that thirty-seven people had been rescued and evacuated to hospitals, while others remain stuck. He confirmed that a rescue crew and other first responders arrived on the scene about 2 a.m. to conduct rescue operations.

“37 people have been evacuated to hospitals so far, with two ‘fatally injured’.

“Others reportedly still trapped.

“Rescue team and others are on ground.

“Rescue operations on but slowly due to ongoing rain.

“They are making frantic efforts at getting an excavator to remove people from the rubble.”
