A group, All Progressives Congress Women Frontliners Forum (APCWFF), has lauded president Bola Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi for appointing more women into the federal executive council.

The forum also congratulated governors and National Assembly members elected on the platform of the party.

They made these known in a communique after a meeting which they presented to the APC National Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje in Abuja during a courtesy visit.

In the communique by the Coordinator of the group, Princess Ann Agom-Eze and Secretary, Princess Mojisola Adesola-Tijani, they lamented the present composition of the federal legislature with only four per cent of females.

Notwithstanding, they expressed the optimism that the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of the Tinubu-led administration would be of immense relief to Nigerians.

The group described Ganduje’s emergence as National Chairman as momentous, stating that they had no doubt that he would succeed in the enormous responsibility, given his track record as Kano State Governor.

The group which comprises majorly women who contested the party’s last primaries for different elective positions and those who ran for the National Assembly election without success, said that their members worked assiduously for the party’s victory in the last general election.

They urged the party to ensure that the 35 per cent affirmative inclusion was observed as promised by the president while fielding candidates in future.

“We are very optimistic that he will fulfill his promise of 35% affirmative inclusion of women in the elective and appointive positions and more bearing in mind that most women are still at the tribunal. We are requesting the Party to recognise our efforts and compensate us accordingly with grade ‘A’ appointments to ameliorate our pains, sufferings and reward our hard work to enable us perform better in the next elections.

“We plead that the nomination of persons be such that it would represent and reflect the 35 per cent affirmative action as promised by the President. And those who contested at the different levels be given due consideration because of our contributions to the growth and success of the party.”
