Breaking: Federal High Court Stops Edo LGA Elections From Holding

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Edo State Independent Electoral Commission, and the state government to appear before it on the 6th of September 2023 to explain why the election should be conducted.

The state government had fixed the election to be held on Saturday, September 2nd, for the elections of LGA wards counsellors and chairmen, but Truth Live News can report from reliable Source that the election may not be held as the All Progressives Congress APC had gone to court to stop it.

The case with suit no. FHC/Abuja/CS/1136/2023, between the All Progressives Congress APC, Edema Omoleye Felix and Imasuen Kate vs INEC, EDSIEC and the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Edo State, and obtained by Truth Live News, is seeking for an interlocutory injunction on the election, the court, however, ordered that the defendants be served and put on notice, asking them to appear before it on the sixth of September, 2023.
