Yunusa Tanko, the spokesperson for the Peter Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council, has revealed that Peter Obi’s legal team is preparing to file an appeal at the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
He clarified that there are no intentions to replace any members of the legal team.
These statements were made by Tanko and Kehinde Edun, the National Legal Adviser of the LP, during discussions with reporters.
“I can confirm that we have not yet filed the appeal. That will be done between now and Tuesday,” stated Tanko.
He further added, “We are also not seeking to engage or alter our team of lawyers.”
Edun clarified, saying, “We have not yet filed the appeal because we are still within the time frame. It will be done shortly. Our legal team is still intact, and they are some of our best resources.”
He concluded, “There is no reason to replace them since we have full confidence in their abilities.”
Previously, Peter Obi’s petitions contesting Bola Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 Presidential election were dismissed by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja. Despite this setback, the LP presidential candidate has expressed his determination to challenge the tribunal’s verdict at the highest court.
