The Cross River State, Sen Bassey Edet Otu, has said that as a government, he is working very hard to address a lot of the insecurity issues that have affected the state for a long time now.
Otu who made the disclosure when he received in his office in Calabar, the Cross River State Commandant of the National Security and Civil Defense Corp, Charles Brown, said he will support him to fight all forms of insecurity in the state.
Especially kidnapping, the governor expressed optimism that by the grace of God they are winning the fight.
“We are ready to partner in anyway possible to ensure that our state is firmly secured.” Otu hinted that he is tackling the issue of unauthorized scrap activities saying some of their activities encourage criminality.

According to him, “You are the closest to the civilian populace and that is why we will support you to fight all forms of insecurity in our state,” he said.
“I am happy that you have served at various capacities in the corp, which emphasizes your experience and leadership qualities,” Otu extolled the Commandant.
“I do not believe that Kinetic method alone can do this,” he said, “I will also employ other methods to ensure that we get a holistic result.”
Earlier, Commander Charles Brown, while appreciating the governor for the audience, said that the reason for the visit was to intimate the him of their readiness to support the state in regards to security of life and property.
“Your desire to make Cross River State safe and investment friendly is one that we appreciate so much,” Brown said, “that is why we came here to say that we are ready to support the state in this regard.”
He assured the governor that they will work together to bring the glory of the state back, adding that under his leadership the Corp is ready to partner with the government to secure every part of the state.
