The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has recently taken the decisive step of ending the appointments of 21 individuals holding leadership positions within various parastatals, agencies, and government companies in the FCT Administration.

This significant move was communicated through an official statement issued by Anthony Ogunleye, the Director of Press in the Office of the Minister.

Under this directive, the affected appointees have been directed to promptly hand over their responsibilities and duties to the highest-ranking officers within their respective organizations.

This change in leadership is expected to be implemented immediately, and it signifies a major restructuring within the FCT’s administrative bodies.

The heads of agencies and organizations include key positions such as the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Abuja Investment Company Ltd, the CEO/Managing Director of Abuja Markets Management Ltd, and the Managing Directors/CEOs of entities like Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company, Abuja Property Development Company, Abuja Technology Village Free Trade Zone Company, Abuja Film Village International, Powernoth AICL Equipment Leasing Company Ltd, and others.

Ogunleye emphasized that appointments to fill these vacated roles will be made in due course. This suggests that Minister Wike and the FCT Administration have specific plans for restructuring and revitalizing these entities.

The decision to overhaul leadership in these critical FCT entities signifies a significant shift in the administration’s priorities and approach. As new leaders take the helm, it will be interesting to see how these changes impact the functioning and development of the Federal Capital Territory.
