Gunmen Set Ablaze Lawmaker’s Residence In Imo

Unidentified gunmen on Thursday, razed the country home of the Federal House of Representatives member for Orlu, Orsu, and Oru East Federal Constituency of Imo State, Chief Canice Moore Chukwugozie Nwachukwu popularly known as Omeogo.

According to a source from the community, named Peter Anaele, the armed gunmen stormed the lawmaker’s residence, armed with guns, explosives, and various other dangerous weapons.

He said that Chief Nwachukwu was not present at his home when the assailants struck.

However, the perpetrators proceeded to round up the domestic staff at gunpoint, instilling fear and chaos.

“They looted properties and valuables, made videos of the staff, and threatened more severe attacks. They then poured petrol, which they brought in with two 20-liter kegs, on the buildings and set the houses ablaze with explosives, bombs, and dynamites,” the source said.

The incident has reportedly thrown the community into panic and apprehension.
