Nigerian socialite, Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, has clarified that his brawl with Mohbad was rooted in a N2 million debt owed to him by the late singer.

Earlier, a video of Sam Larry and a group of individuals confronting the late singer during the filming of a music video featuring Zlatan had circulated on social media, causing outrage with many condemning Sam Larry for his aggressive behavior towards the late young singer.

In the video, Sam Larry, reportedly associated with Naira Marley, approached Mohbad, who ran away in fear.

However, in a statement shared on SnapChat, Sam Larry disclosed that he had paid Mohbad N2 million for a performance at his mother’s annual remembrance concert in Ikorodu two years prior.

Mohbad failed to honor the commitment, claiming that he was ill. When Sam Larry requested a refund, Mohbad claimed he had lost both money and his phone during an NDLEA raid and, given his departure from Marlian Records, couldn’t repay.

Sam Larry heard that Mohbad was having a music video shoot near his house, sparking a five-minute argument. Yet, the money remained unpaid. Sam Larry later traveled to Kenya in search of a new African act for his mother’s concert, distancing himself from the issue.

Sam Larry’s official statement is that he had no knowledge of Mohbad’s whereabouts, his health condition, or the circumstances surrounding his death.

He emphasized that he only knew Mohbad’s former label boss and their residence, denying any involvement in the singer’s demise.

In conclusion, Sam Larry clarified that his dispute with Mohbad revolved around the unpaid N2 million for a canceled performance at his mother’s event and denied any knowledge of the singer’s house, personal life or tragic fate.
