Determined to reciprocate the support given him by his kin men, the Deputy Governor of Cross River State Rt Hon Peter Odey has assured the Cross River APC Northern Elders’ Forum that when a caucus is formed, everyone would be carried along.
Hon Odey gave the assurance when the Northern Elders’ Forum, South south Nigeria paid a solidarity visit to him in his house in Calabar.
Rt. Hon. Odey with overwhelming and inexplicable nostalgia he felt when the team commended him for his humility also appreciated the group for coming together to honor him.
After he had offered to facilitate a meeting of the Elders’ Forum with him and the Governor Sen Bassey Edet Otu, he further assured them that all the concerns they had raised will be addressed.
“The sky is not your limit but the starting point in view of your notable feat,” the leader of the Cross River APC Northern Elders’ Forum Chief Fidelis Ugbo said.
Ugbo who also described Hon Odey as a good team player and leader of the north, remarks that they were happy over the appointments he has so far made.
The former Secretary to the State government commended the state government’s plans to complete the Obudu cargo airport and the revival of the Ranch Resort.
With a gut feeling of having made a good decision, the APC State Chairman, Barr. Alphonsus Eba, on his part offered to play an advisory role and encouragement of the Northern Elders’ Forum.
He Odey have had a long history of achievements and had remained humble despite them while calling on him to continue to cultivate the cordial relationship existing between himself and the Governor.
After Eba had begged the group not to abandon Governor Otu’s administration halfway, he also called on them to support him till the end.
Others who spoke at the visit of the APC elders and stalwarts from C’River North including Chief Peter Ojie, Ada Bekwarra II, Omang ldiege ,Chief Tony Undiandeye, Gabe Edi, Dr Kate Agba Ajibike, E. J Ekunke and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar Prof Zana Akpagu, reiterated their support and followership for Rt. Hon. Peter Odey as the leader of Cross River North.
