A bus collided with a trailer close to the Asio Filling Station in Abaji, along the Abuja-Lokoja Highway, killing the driver, conductor, and passenger.
According to a witness, the accident occurred on Tuesday at around two in the morning when the trailer was struck by an unmarked J5 bus that was completely filled with tomatoes from the Gwagwalada axis.
According to him, the bus driver lost control and struck the trailer from behind when the Daf trailer driver pulled into a rest area close to the gas station.
He claimed that two of the imprisoned individuals perished instantaneously, and that the driver eventually passed away at Abaji General Hospital following his rescue by local Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) personnel.
When our reporter returned to the scene yesterday morning at around eight in the morning, FRSC authorities were still attempting to extract one of the corpses from the bus using an extricating equipment.
An FRSC official, who wished to remain anonymous, said that the bus driver’s overspeeding was the cause of the collision.
Additionally, it was learned that the deceased’s bodies had been carried by their families to the JIBWIS central mosque in the neighborhood, where they were interred in accordance with Islamic customs following funeral prayers.
