Cristiano Ronaldo reached a remarkable milestone during Portugal’s UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier against Bosnia and Herzegovina on October 16, 2023. The match, held at Bilino Polje in Zenica, witnessed a dominant Portugal squad led by Ronaldo.

Just five minutes into the game, the 38-year-old captain opened the scoring with a penalty kick, marking his 858th career goal for both club and country. This extraordinary achievement also meant he has contributed (goals and assists ) to an astounding 1,100 goals in his career.

Ronaldo added to his tally by scoring a lovely chop goal only fifteen minutes later, doubling Portugal’s lead in the match. This 127th goal for the Portuguese national team came in his 203rd appearance, demonstrating his unwavering commitment and skill in international play. Notably, this goal was his ninth in just seven games during the ongoing Euro 2024 qualifiers.

What’s truly remarkable is that Ronaldo has consistently scored 40 or more goals for 13 calendar years, an achievement that surpasses his peers. In 2023 alone, he outperformed notable stars like Erling Haaland, who scored 39 goals, and Kylian Mbappe, with 35 goals. All of this becomes even more impressive when considering that he accomplished these feats at the age of 38.

With his remarkable form and incredible goal-scoring ability, Cristiano Ronaldo’s future in football appears bright. It wouldn’t be surprising if he continues to amaze the world by netting goals even at the age of 42.
