President Bola Tinubu has given the green light for the appointment of Alhaji Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji as the newly appointed Managing Director/CEO of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA). Similarly, Akutah Pius Ukeyima has been appointed the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC). These appointments are part of a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, aligning with the recommendations of Minister Adegboyega Oyetola.
Alhaji Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji brings a wealth of experience, having worked in the banking and finance sector, with qualifications including Master’s degrees in Public Administration and Business Administration. With over 28 years of diverse economic sector experience, his previous public service achievements include turning around the fortunes of the Osun State Investment Company Limited, and later serving as the Osun State Commissioner of Finance for eight years.
On the other hand, Akutah Pius Ukeyima is a Law graduate who also holds a Master’s degree in Public International Law from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. His most recent position was as the Head of the Central Authority Unit, International Cooperation in Criminal Matters, Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation.
The appointments are intended to ensure the faithful execution of the policies and programs set forth by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy. They play a crucial role in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda’s Blue Economy strategy, with the ultimate goal of swiftly and effectively boosting revenues and investments in this vital sector.
