The International Conference Center in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, was buzzing with excitement as graduates of the “One Youth, Two Skills” initiative received a generous N2 billion grant from Governor Charles Soludo.

This momentous event occurred during the graduation and business financing ceremony for over 5000 beneficiaries of the first batch of the scheme on Friday.

Governor Soludo who presented the cheque explained that having formed themselves into cooperatives, there is a special funding put aside through Anambra State Small Business Agency, for those who want to scale up their enterprise to access grants of up to N5m.

He emphasized that these grants would provide them with the necessary resources to acquire essential equipment for their entrepreneurial endeavors.

The governor encouraged the graduates to visit their respective Local Government Areas the following week to collect their cheques.

Recognizing human capital as Anambra’s most valuable resource, the Governor described the youth as the bridge to the future, underscoring his administration’s commitment to providing sustainable empowerment opportunities.

On his part, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba said that the second part of the scheme will commence soon.
