The first son of the late Chief Anthony Anenih, Anthony Anenih Jnr. has revealed the qualities of his late father that made him succeed in his political career while on earth, which were blindness to religion and ethnicity.
He made the revelation while giving his opening remark at the 5th Year Memorial Anniversary Lecture held in his late father’s honour in Benin City.
Mr. Anenih said his late father led a very disciplined life style and which has endeared people to him.
Anenih said that the calibres of persons from all walks of life that have graced the event is a testaments of how he has touched the lives of those who have ever come in contact with him.
He said the memorial anniversary is one of the ways they have decided to celebrate and remember him and celebrate his legacies.
He described the life and times of his late father as one that is remarkable and a man who did not play ethnic and religious cards but was able to unite all regions together and built a very strong and formidable party in the country.
Delivering a lecture in his honour, Dr. Sam Amadi, Director of Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts and a Visiting Professor at the Emerald Energy Institute at the University of Port Harcourt, described the late Anenih as a man who has demonstrated a true sense of uncommon leadership.
He said a true leader is a man whose absence is felt when he is not around.
Amadi said Nigerians and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) missed the late Chief Anthony Anenih and urged other political leaders to strive to fit into the political big shoes he left behind.
