Israel will not agree to a ceasefire as it would be equivalent to surrendering to Hamas and terrorism, Benjamin Netanyahu said.
According to Sky news report, Truthlive news learnt that the prime minister said this during a press conference on Monday evening, stating that his country would not stop military activity “just as the United States would not agree to a ceasefire after the bombing of Pearl Harbor or the terrorist attack of 9/11”.
Prime Minister Netanyahu condemned Hamas for what he described as their attempt to undermine Israel’s future promise and urged the world not to yield to tyranny and terror.
He emphasized that Israel did not initiate the conflict but was determined to prevail.
“Israel did not start this war. Israel did not want this war. But Israel will win this war,” he said.
“Israel is fighting the enemies of civilisation itself,” he added.
Netanyahu also accused Hamas of committing severe crimes, including the rape of women and beheading of men during their surprise attack in October 7.
He characterized this as an assault on civilization itself and highlighted the distinction between Hamas’s deliberate targeting of civilians and the unintentional casualties resulting from Israeli strikes.
Additionally, he claimed that Hamas was using Palestinian civilians as human shields and preventing foreign nationals from leaving Gaza.
