Toba Owojaiye Reporting
Tinubu has openly expressed his disapproval of non-Federal Executive Council (FEC) members being present at the executive council meetings. He specifically highlighted that only Hadiza Usman, the Special Adviser on Policy and Bayo Onunuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, are permitted to attend these sessions.
He voiced his strong dissatisfaction with the fact that his own son was spotted in the vicinity, which he labeled as “unacceptable.”
This incident comes in the wake of an earlier controversy involving the president’s son, Seyi Tinubu, who drew widespread attention when he attended a state-organized polo event aboard a presidential jet. This incident had triggered a significant uproar and public scrutiny.
The public reaction to Tinubu’s stance on his son’s presence at the FEC meetings has been largely positive. Many citizens appreciate the president’s commitment to controlling the exuberance of his son and preventing his involvement in state functions.
This move is seen as an essential step in maintaining transparency and adhering to the protocols surrounding the FEC meetings. By making it clear that only specific advisers should participate in these crucial discussions, it reinforces the principles of good governance and ensures that the integrity of the executive council is upheld.
