Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has expressed concern over the absence of a master plan for the state capital and the overall state, hindering effective planning. Inheriting numerous challenges, he emphasized the difficulties in proper planning and projections.

Truth Live News gathered that the remarks were made during the submission of a report by the Obadiah Ando-led Committee on streamlining ministries, departments, and government agencies.

Ando, a former federal minister, outlined the committee’s challenges and stressed the importance of streamlining to prevent overlap and costly repetitions in duties. Recommending the unbundling of certain ministries to reduce workloads, he advocated for a shift in responsibilities, suggesting that the Head of Service should not handle salary payments.

Governor Kefas pledged to meticulously implement the committee’s findings, trusting the capable team to deliver. Addressing criticism regarding the establishment of committees and training initiatives, he defended the significance of workshops and seminars in fostering an enlightened workforce.

Highlighting the need for more refresher courses for top-level staff, Ando’s emphasis on training resonated with Kefas, who urged his team to collaborate diligently to realize his vision for the state. He promised a swift establishment of a White Paper committee to summarize the reports, demonstrating his commitment to actionable outcomes.

The committee, comprising seasoned individuals like former Head of Service of the Federation Danladi Kifasi, Chief of Staff to Taraba Governor Dr. Jeji Williams, and former Taraba State Head of Service Augustine Banzing, reflects a diverse and experienced group dedicated to addressing the state’s challenges.

Emmanuel Bello, Special Adviser Media and Digital Communications, reported on the governor’s proactive stance, showcasing his determination to address existing issues and implement strategic changes for the betterment of Taraba State.
