Unless there is any last minute change, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is slated to present the highly anticipated 2024 Appropriation bill to a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday.

This announcement was made by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, during his address at a one-day retreat for chairmen and deputy chairmen of the House of Representatives’ standing committees in Abuja on Monday.

The revelation has sparked a wave of anticipation, as stakeholders eagerly await the unveiling of the budgetary framework that will shape the economic trajectory of the nation in the coming fiscal year.

During the retreat, Gbajabiamila underscored the importance of collaboration between the executive and legislative branches in steering the nation towards sustainable development. He expressed confidence in the thoroughness of the budgetary process, highlighting the critical role of the standing committees in ensuring a comprehensive and well-analyzed Appropriation Bill.

“This budget is not just a financial document; it is a roadmap for the nation’s progress,” Gbajabiamila remarked. “We are confident that the joint efforts of the executive and legislative arms will produce a budget that reflects the aspirations of the Nigerian people and addresses the pressing needs of our society.”

The President’s address on Wednesday is expected to provide insight into the administration’s priorities, with a focus on key sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security. Observers note that the budget will likely take into account the evolving economic landscape and global uncertainties, demonstrating a commitment to fiscal responsibility and economic resilience.
