Kaduna Central Senator Condemns Military’s Mistaken Strike, Urges Swift Probe, Assistance for Victims

The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Sen Lawal Adamu Usman, expressed deep dismay over the accidental bombing of worshipers at a Maulud celebration gathering in Unguwan Tudun Biri, near Buruku in Afaka Ward of Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The incident occurred on Sunday, December 3, 2023, and resulted in the tragic loss of 82 lives, with many others sustaining various injuries.

Sen Usman vehemently criticized the military’s explanation that the gathering was mistaken for a bandit meeting, labeling it as unprofessional and indicative of a lack of intelligence gathering in military operations.

He demanded for a thorough and independent investigation, he highlighted the urgency of unraveling the mysteries surrounding this unfortunate incident.

In a statement made available to Truth Live News, the senator expressed his disbelief that, despite recent successes against bandits, the military’s conduct in this operation could jeopardize its achievements in the fight against insurgents. He called on government agencies responsible for emergencies at all levels to promptly provide assistance to the victims.

Sen Usman extended his condolences to the immediate families of the victims, as well as to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor of Kaduna State Senator Uba Sani, acknowledging the gravity of the situation.

In a compassionate gesture, Sen Lawal Adamu Usman visited the Barau Dikko Hospital to personally witness the aftermath of the tragedy, offering support to the injured. This hands-on approach showcases his commitment to standing with the affected community during this challenging time.
