Benin City, Edo State.

In a solemn proclamation, Governor Godwin Obaseki has expressed profound grief over the passing of Chief Kolawole Okeaya Inneh SAN, an esteemed figure and the foremost Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in the South-South geopolitical region.

Governor Obaseki emphasized that Chief Inneh was not just a legal luminary but a towering figure whose legacy surpassed professional accolades, imprinting an indelible influence that served as a wellspring of inspiration to countless individuals. Renowned for his unyielding dedication to justice and fairness, especially for the marginalized, Chief Inneh was a charismatic and enigmatic personality.

Beyond his legal prowess and acumen, Chief Inneh was a patriarch who instilled values of integrity and industriousness in his progeny, a legacy manifest in one of his children ascending to the prestigious rank of SAN and another to the judiciary as a judge.

Truth Live News reports that Governor Obaseki lauded Chief Inneh’s lifetime of excellence in service to both God and humanity, extolling his affable nature, sagacity, and ceaseless contributions to the advancement of both the state and the nation.

The Governor mourned the palpable void left by the late jurist’s departure, (who passed at a good age of 84 years), stating that Edo would surely feel the absence of his profound impact.

While extending heartfelt condolences to the grieving Okeaya-Inneh family, as well as friends and associates, Governor Obaseki fervently prayed for divine strength to cope with this irreparable loss. Edo State is in mourning, recognizing the departure of a legal giant, yet finding solace in the enduring legacy that Chief Kolawole Okeaya Inneh has bequeathed through the lives he touched and the principles he ardently championed.
