The newly elected Edo State Football Association (FA) Board members visited Mr. Yusuf Alli, the chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City on Tuesday, December 5th. Led by FA Chairman Fred Newton Erhunmunse, the delegation introduced themselves and expressed the importance of recognizing their affiliation with the sports commission before any official engagements elsewhere.
In a statement made available to Truth Live News, Erhunmunse highlighted the significance of the visit in associating with the sports commission, stating, “Before we go to any other place for an official meeting or to appreciate anyone who supported us, we must come home first.” He introduced the Board members and the acting FA secretary, Bisi Otatupe, emphasizing the need to do the “needful” in terms of association and recognition.
In response, Dr. Emmanuel Igbinosa, the acting Permanent Secretary of the Edo State Sports Commission, welcomed the FA members and pledged support for their success. He expressed excitement about witnessing a new chapter for the Edo FA and encouraged the Board in their respective roles.
Yusuf Alli, the chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, commended the newly elected FA members and expressed his desire for them to bring a new face to Edo FA. He congratulated them on the potential for positive change and growth, emphasizing the importance of fresh perspectives and ideas.
Alli, who refrained from involvement in the election process to ensure fairness, stressed the need for transparent and unbiased elections. He was pleased with the outcome of the Edo FA Elective Congress.
Additionally, Yusuf Alli addressed the need for renovating the office space of the Edo FA chairman in the sports complex. He emphasized that a comfortable and functional workspace is crucial for effective duties, enhancing the working environment, and reflecting the value placed on the Edo State Football Association. The Digital Sports Commission boss underscored the importance of transparency and improvement for the FA’s continued positive impact in Edo State.
