#EPL: Manchester City vs Crystal Palace

A resilient Crystal Palace team overcame a 2-0 deficit to Premier League leaders Manchester City to get 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium thanks to a penalty kick by Michael Olise deep into additional time.

As City attempted to climb to the second spot in the standings, Jack Grealish scored his third goal in three games on minute 24. On minute 54, Rico Lewis scored his first Premier League goal from inside the box, giving City their second goal.

On minute 76, Jean-Philippe Mateta opened the improbable Palace comeback with a close-range goal after a well-executed cross by Jeffrey Schlupp.

Mateta also earned his team a penalty when, with just minutes remaining, Phil Foden blatantly took him out late. This startled the City supporters, who had been seeing their team dominate possession and opportunities but fail to score a game-winning third goal.

The outstanding Grealish, along with Foden, gave his team a well-earned lead by slipping the ball into the net following his England teammate’s precise pass. With City once again lacking the injured Erling Haaland.

But despite their late collapse, City is still three points behind leaders Liverpool, who play Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday, and has not advanced to take second place in the table.
