The Nigeria Minister of Sports Development Sen John Owan Enoh, has been chosen as the recipient of Africa’s Sustainability Man of the Year 2023 Award.
At the 17th edition of the Sustainability, Enterprise and Responsibility Awards (SERAS), which was held on Friday in Lagos, the Minister said he was deeply honored and humbled.
Sen Enoh who was there with his dear wife said that Sports is the hallmark of sustainability.
“We have to repurpose sports,” he added. “It is true that sports can address poverty, and unemployment, reduce crime, breed social inclusion, and contribute significantly to the nation’s GDP.”
Via his official Facebook page the Minister noted that the direction of the ministry of sports development WAIFAR, speaks simply of the pathway that they will follow under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Thank you very much SERAS for distinguishing me from notable leaders of African descent, it is humbling,” he said.
