The Lagos State government has once again closed down the renowned Quilox nightclub, located on Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, Victoria Island.
The Update was made public via Lagos State Environment official X handle.
Quilox Restaurant Bar Night Club was found to be in non-compliance with essential environmental regulations, leading to its closure.
The tweet cautioned against considering the shutdown as a witch-hunt when the government takes its final stance on the traffic and environmental disruptions caused by the establishment.
Truth Live News gathered that this is not the first time Quilox has faced closure.
Last year, on December 26, the popular nightclub was shut down for non-compliance with the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency’s (LASEPA) directives by hosting events without the necessary sound control permit.
In November 2023, it faced closure again due to noise pollution and other environmental infractions, only to be reopened later based on commitments from its operators to adhere to safety regulations.
LASEPA officials, along with the Lagos State Safety Commission (LSC), confirmed the recent shutdown through their official X handle.
The agencies emphasized the importance of social centers ensuring their operations do not compromise the safety and well-being of citizens.
In a broader warning, LASEPA and LSC directed attention to other establishments, including Sol Beach, The Good Beach, and Landmark Beach, cautioning them against environmental violations and safety negligence.
The agencies jointly conducted an enforcement operation, sealing Quilox nightclub and issuing stern warnings to other social centers.
The tweet from LASEPA stated, “Lagos State Government Seals Quilox, strongly warns Sol Beach, The Good Beach, and Landmark Beach over Environmental and Safety infractions.”
The agencies underscored the need for social centers across the state to prioritize safety and well-being, especially during the Yuletide season.
