The Ukanafun LGA’s transition Committee Chairman Elder Godwin Ekpe has declared seven days mourning period for all indigenes of Ukanafun over the tragic fire incident that occurred at the residence of the People Democratic Party (PDP) state chairman Late Obong Udo Ekpenyong.
The inferno reported to have killed his wife, Mrs Elizabeth Udo Ekpenyong and her sister Ms Ofonime Frank took place on Sunday December 24,2023.
A statement by the secretary transition Committee Ukanafun LGA Hon Udeme Idiong said that the mourning period will commence from Tuesday December 26, 2023 through Monday January 1, 2024.
Sequel to that, it has also in collaboration with the stakeholders of the LGA and approval of the state government approved a withdrawal of Ukanafun contingent and performance in the ongoing Christmas unplugged activities earlier slated for December 28, 2023.
The chairman in the statement made available on Monday December 25, 2023 via social media and seen by Truth Live News sympathizes with the family of the deceased and prayed for the repose of the departed souls.
