In a significant legal victory, the Federal High Court has awarded N100 million in damages against the Federal Government in favor of former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
The ruling, delivered on Monday in Abuja, it was declared that the government had violated Emefiele’s right to personal liberty.
The judgment stemmed from a case filed by Mr. Emefiele, who alleged that the Federal Government had infringed upon his fundamental rights during series of corruption allegations questionings. The court carefully considered the evidence presented and concluded that there was indeed a breach of Emefiele’s personal liberty.
