The National Television Authority (NTA) has recently secured the exclusive broadcast rights for the highly anticipated 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), marking a significant milestone.
This landmark deal ensures that every moment of the prestigious continental football tournament will be aired exclusively on NTA, a surprising development after Multichoice, the owners of DSTV and Super Sports, were unable to secure the rights as in previous editions.
The Africa Cup of Nations, also known as the TotalEnergies AFCON or simply AFCON/CAN, is widely regarded as Africa’s premier international men’s association football competition.
Scheduled to commence on Saturday, 13 January 2024, and conclude on Sunday, 11 February 2024, the upcoming edition will be hosted in the football-loving nation of Cote d’Ivoire.
NTA has forged a significant partnership with Afro Sports, formalizing a pivotal memorandum of understanding. This strategic collaboration solidifies NTA’s commitment to broadcast all 52 thrilling matches of the AFCON tournament.
