Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s Chief of Staff, Chidi Amadi, has officially resigned, according to a statement by Commissioner Joseph Johnson. Amadi, a loyalist to former Governor Nyesom Wike, remains unreachable for comments. His departure marks the tenth exit of Wike’s loyalists from Fubara’s administration amid political tensions.

Truth Live News gathered that the Ijaw Youth Council advocated for the appointment of Edison Ehie, the former factional Speaker of the state House of Assembly, as the new Chief of Staff.

Speculations abound regarding Ehie’s potential appointment, fueled by his recent resignation from the Assembly and Fubara’s assertion that it was aimed at fostering peace amid political turmoil.

One of the governor’s media aide denied knowledge of the certainty of Ehie’s appointment while the Secretary of Ijaw Youth Council insists on his suitability.
The situation unfolds against the backdrop of the ongoing political crisis between Governor Fubara and his estranged mentor, Nyesom Wike.

As Fubara is expected to announce a replacement for Amadi, the political landscape in Rivers State remains tense, with calls for strategic appointments to address the prevailing political challenges. The fate of Edison Ehie as the potential Chief of Staff adds a layer of uncertainty to the unfolding developments.
