The Chairman of Esan South East Local Government Council, Hon. Louis Imhandegbelo, has refuted the claim that he hoarded and diverted the federal government palliatives meant for the people of the local government.

He refuted the claim while speaking with newsmen on other sundry issues in the local government area.

“I want to use this medium to call on those involved in this malicious, unfounded rumour and character assassination to desist from it.

“The misinformation about misuse of power and diversion of government palliatives is nothing but false and a lie from the pit of hell.

“I want to say that of the 18 Local Government Areas of Edo State, Esan South East LG, went round the wards sharing government palliatives to distinguished party leaders and loyalists.

“In this era of our democracy, it is only an insane person that will deny people of the dividends of democracy knowing that our governor is a man committed to the welfare of the masses”, he said.

Imhandegbelo said that the palliatives was from federal government on fuel subsidy, and was distributed by local government emergency committee across the local government accordingly to the vulnerable that were affected by flood, adding that was the time they had over 600 internally Displaced persons from six communities in Esan south East due to flood.

He added that the persons involved in this act are under sponsorship of political enemies who are against the government because of 2024 governorship polls. They want to drag the good name of the chairman into the mud.

He said Esan South East as they know, is predominantly PDP, with highly progressives and responsible party elders, leaders and loyalists who mean well for the great party.

The council boss said he would not allow anyone or group of disgruntled persons to frustrate or truncate the PDP leaders’ efforts in ensuring the success of this present administration.

“Therefore this information about our amiable chairman is false, misleading, biased and aimed at bringing the number one citizen of the local government to disrepute.

“Again as the Chairman of the Local Government, my duty is to protect lives and properties of my people, so how is it is possible for the HOLGA to be beaten up.

“I use this medium to call on the state government and the good people of Esan South East LG to disregard this malicious and unfounded report”, Imhandegbelo added.
