Edo South PDP Leader, Owere Dickson Imasogie, officially threw his weight behind Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the prominent PDP gubernatorial aspirant for the upcoming September 2024 Edo State governorship election. Imasogie, a grassroots politician, vocalized his endorsement during Ighodalo’s official declaration at the Party Secretariat in Benin City.

Truth Live News gathered that Imasogie, while emphasizing the importance of unity within the party, expressed his confidence in Ighodalo’s ability to unify the factions, stating that the renewed corporate legal expert is a unifying force. According to Imasogie, Ighodalo has played a pivotal role in reconciling the party’s warring factions and successfully organized the first NWC meeting in years.

Highlighting the significance of the people in the party, Imasogie stated, “The people are the owners of this party.” He praised Ighodalo as a unifier, acknowledging that the aspirant has accomplished what he himself couldn’t. Imasogie commended Ighodalo for engaging with both the legacy groups in Edo South and Edo North, revealing a personal shift in support: “Five weeks ago, if you told me I would support Ighodalo, I would not believe you.”

Imasogie’s endorsement extended beyond mere words, as he revealed plans to take Ighodalo to his people within the next week. Emphasizing the broader scope of party ownership, Imasogie mentioned interactions with leaders in the central and north regions, underlining the necessity of unity for the party’s success.

Pa Imasogie expressed optimism about Ighodalo’s unifying efforts, affirming, “He has started it, he is doing it now, and I am sure he will succeed.” This public endorsement from a key figure in the Edo South PDP adds momentum to Ighodalo’s campaign and reinforces the aspirant’s commitment to fostering unity within the party.
