Operatives of the Edo State Police Command has arrested Martins Uwaifo, 29, for impersonation.
He was said to have used the plate number of the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS).
He was arrested by the operatives of the anti-cultism unit of the Nigerian Police while conducting a stop and search duty along Okabere Street in the Upper Sakpoba axis in his unregistered Lexus jeep with No Rx350.
Briefing the press on Tuesday, during the parade of 40 suspects in its custody at the Edo State Police headquarters, the Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, said the suspect also confessed to be a member Supreme Vikings Confraternity.
SP Nwabuzor said the police have launched an investigation promising to arraign the suspect any time soon.
In a related development, the Operatives of the Nigerian Police say a 40-year-old suspected fraudulent man David Ibiso who allegedly defrauded to the tune of Eleven Million Naira will appear in court on completion of the investigation.
Speaking on his alleged crime, SP Chidi Nwabuzor averred that a case of fraud against the suspect was instituted by one Josephine Egharevba.
He said the suspect, Ibiso, who claimed to be a medical doctor and a registered travel agent was arrested in Abuja by the anti-kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit where he was accused by the victim of fraudulently obtaining eleven million Naira in trenches, to secure her travel documents to the US.
Reacting to the allegations, the suspect, Ibiso however, agreed to have collected the said amount adding that the contract is still in progress.
Other modest achievements recorded by the police include the arrest of one Efosa Iyase in the Uteh Community who is a syndicate specialist in Burglary and stealing people’s property in the neighborhood.
Other gang members including Amadin Omoregie 41, Yusuf Tijani 18, and Miracle Jimoh 18, were arrested alongside the kingpin.
Items including three Laptops, twenty-four Android phones, Eleven Button phones, and an iPad phone were recovered from the suspected criminals.
Nwabuzor also gave an account of how Operatives of the Ekiadolor division arrested one Desmond Enoma 33, who reportedly jumped off a moving Toyota Yaris car with four passengers on board
