President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has told traditional rulers in the South-South geopolitical zone that he is working to revive the economy from the damage of several years.
On Tuesday at the State House where he met with the South-South Monarchs Forum, Tinubu assured them of his commitment to address their concerns over development and environmental degradation.
His Royal Majesty, Major-General Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd), Chairman of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, and Vice-Chairman of the South-South Monarchs led the Forum.
Nevertheless, president Tinubu expressed joy that the Vice-Chairman of the Forum served in an organization where they need intelligence to operate.
“I will take on all of your concerns, and I will address each of them one by one,” he continued.”We seek your support, prayers, and understanding.”
Also, ”We cannot underestimate your contributions to the peace and stability of this country.”
For example, president noted that the traditional institution will be the source of the intelligence the country needs for the holistic development.
Accordingly, “anytime you need to tell us something, do not hesitate to reach out to this office,” he stated.
In addition, “Continue to uphold us in your prayers and in talking to our youths to keep faith with the country because light is already visible at the end of the tunnel,” the President said.
He highlighted their understanding approach to his administration’s economic reforms, particularly the removal of the fuel subsidy.
President Tinubu said Nigerians would soon enjoy the benefits of these tough, yet necessary decisions.
Other things he told the Royal Fathers that his administration is diligently working to strengthen included climate change, environmental restoration, infrastructure development, security and stability in the region.
Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity reported that His Royal Majesty, Major-General Mujakperuo appealed to President Tinubu to follow up on all developmental efforts in the region.
“Mr. President, you know the problems of our region as an expert with experience in the energy industry,” Mujakperuo remarked.
In the other hand, “we are comforted that you have pledged to take on our concerns and bring a final solution to them.”
The South-South Monarchs Forum Vice-Chairman said they observed him working hard to solve their problems.
Meanwhile, Minister of Sports Development, Sen John Owan Enoh, on Tuesday joined the President, Traditional Rulers and leaders from across the South-South to discuss pertinent issues and arrive at logical conclusions where possible.
Via his official Facebook page,he said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is compelled to chart a way forward for the development of the South-South Region.
