The People’s Democratic Party in Edo State has lauded the National Working Committee (NWC), the electoral committee, and other parties involved for overseeing a peaceful ward delegates election.
The election, held in all 18 Local Government Areas and 192 wards, which was conducted to elect the three adhoc delegates, has been concluded and the results have been handed over to the electoral committee.
In the statement sent to Truth Live News which was signed by the PDP State Organising Secretary, Mr. Anthony Anenih, it was revealed that the process which was observed by Independent National Electoral Commission INEC and civil society groups, was relatively smooth.
However, there was an incident of kidnap of some officials in Jattu in Estako Central local government area, the hometown of Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, the deputy governor of the state.
The PDP has called on the IGP to investigate the incident and ensure the swift release of the officials.
The Edo State chapter of the PDP expresses gratitude to all party leaders and organs for their supervision of the successful election.
