Arsenal closed in on leaders Liverpool in the title race with a crucial 3-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium, as Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, and Leandro Trossard found the net, Truth Live News reports.
The Mikel Arteta-led Gunners, Truth Live News can confirm, dominated much of the first half against a lackluster Liverpool side in what was considered a ‘must-not lose’ contest.
It was Saka who opened the scoring in the 14th minute, capitalizing on a rebound after Alisson’s superb save denied Kai Havertz.
Liverpool however levelled just before the break due to a calamitous mix-up leading to an own goal by Gabriel.
Arsenal regained the lead in the 67th minute through Martinelli, exploiting comical defending. A shocking miscommunication between Alisson and Virgil van Dijk allowed Martinelli to roll the ball into an unguarded goal.
Liverpool struggled to level, and their woes deepened when Ibrahima Konate received a second yellow card.
Substitute Trossard added a third goal, securing Arsenal’s move to second place, cutting the gap on Liverpool to two points after 23 matches.
Manchester City is in third, three points behind with two games in hand.
Liverpool aim to recover against Burnley, while Arsenal face West Ham in their upcoming fixtures.
