In a dramatic turn of events, the streets of Minna, the capital of Niger State, have become a battleground for disgruntled citizens as they take to the streets to express their anger and frustration over the relentless rise in inflation and the subsequent surge in gas and fuel prices.

Truth Live News gathered from TVC News that the epicenter of the protest is the Kpakungu roundabout, a pivotal intersection leading to the Neco headquarters and the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMinna). The usually bustling area has transformed into a scene of chaos, with protesters occupying the space and erecting barricades that impede the flow of traffic.

As the day unfolded, the situation escalated as hoodlums joined the protest, intensifying the chaos by blockading roads and preventing commuters from passing through. The Kpakungu roundabout, known for its strategic location and heavy traffic, has now become a symbol of resistance against what the protesters perceive as the government’s failure to address the economic challenges facing the nation.

The primary grievance driving the protesters to the streets is the relentless surge in inflation, which has adversely affected the cost of living for many Nigerians. The recent spike in gas and fuel prices has only added fuel to the fire, leading to widespread discontent among the populace.

It was gathered that the demonstrators are brandishing placards with slogans condemning the government’s economic policies and demanding immediate action to alleviate the burden on ordinary citizens. Chants of “enough is enough” and “we can’t bear it anymore” resonate through the air as the crowd grows in size and determination.

The blockade of the roads by hoodlums has created a tense standoff between the protesters and law enforcement agencies attempting to restore order. Tear gas and water cannons have been deployed in an effort to disperse the crowds, but the protesters stand resolute, expressing their determination to be heard and demanding concrete measures to address the economic challenges facing the nation.
