Nigerian President, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved the confirmation of the acting Chief Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Reuben Eifediyi, as the substantive leader of the Federal health institute at Irrua, Edo state, South-South Nigeria.
The president, who made this confirmation announcement on Thursday in Abuja, also made other appointments into key Federal Government agencies and departments.
Truth Live News gathered that Prof. Eifediyi has been acting as the CMD at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital for several months, which has seen massive improvements in all sectors of the hospital under his watch, making his confirmation inevitable and largely expected by many Nigerians who have seen the developments initiated and executed by the management under his watch.
Other appointments approved by President Tinubu on Thursday include: retaining Prof. Moji Adeyeye as the Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC). He also approved the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer for the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Director-General/CEO: Dr. Olajide Idris to assume office on February 19, 2024.
In a statement, the President’s spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, said the changes were in furtherance of his determination to bring world-class standards to Nigerian public health administration and to manifest his commitment to delivering affordable and quality care to all Nigerians.
