The Ondo State Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has announced automatic employment for the best-graduating student of the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, Miss Adedayo Janet.
The governor also announced the approval of a sum of N1.2b grant to the institution to complete some of the abandoned projects on the campus of the university.
The governor made this announcement on Monday at Okitipupa during his visit to the institution.
In his words, “I am especially honoured to address this second Convocation. This marks my historic and inaugural attendance as a Visitor to the university, since my assumption of office in the last 69 days”.
The governor said the approval of the N1.2b capital grant in the 2024 budget to the OAUSTECH, was for speedy completion of abandoned buildings of the School of Science and others.
He also promised to facilitate the completion of the abandoned hostel buildings being funded by the Niger Delta Development Commission and the OSOPADEC.
While congratulating the graduating students on the feat, he admonished them to always make the school, Ondo State, the country, and their parents and guardians proud wherever they found themselves in the world.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Temi Ologunorisa, in his opening speech, disclosed that a total of 1,202 students were conferred with first-degree at the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 academic sessions of the university, an amazing record.
