Nigeria’s Falconets have advanced to the final of the women’s football event at the African Games 2023 following a commanding 2-0 triumph over Uganda in the semi-finals.
Goals from Okah Adaobi and Chiamaka Okwuchukwu in the second half sealed the victory for the Falconets. Adaobi broke the deadlock in the 74th minute, with Okwuchukwu adding the insurance goal in the 89th minute.
Under the guidance of coach Christopher Danjuma, the Falconets have maintained a perfect record in the tournament, securing three consecutive wins. They started with a 2-0 victory against Morocco in the group stage before routing Senegal 4-0 in their second match.
As the defending champions of the African Games women’s football event, the Falconets continue to showcase their dominance on the continental stage.
