C’River Gov. Authorizes Procurement Of 108 Tractors, Ten Transformers For Power Sub-Stations

Cross River State Governor Sen Bassey Edet Otu, has approved the Procurement of 108 Units of 3-Wheel Agricultural Tractors to boost mechanized farming.

Also, approved for procurement is 10 NOs Transformers for the replacement of burnt Power Sub-Stations across the State.

The approval contained in the resolutions of the 3rd State Executive Council Meeting held on Wednesday March 20, 2024, at the council of Chiefs’ chambers in Calabar.

In addition, Otu has approved three Executive Bills for presentation to the Cross River State House of Assembly.

The bills include an amendment to the Cross River State Security Trust Fund Law 2010.

A bill to provide for mainstreaming of Climate Change actions and establishment of State Council on Climate Change and other related Matters.

And a bill for the establishment of Cross River State Green Economy Commission and other related matters therewith.

On the other hand, Governor Otu, has approved award of contract for the upgrade and rehabilitation of Ikom General Hospital.

Other award of contracts he approved include the Completion of Headquarters of the Local Government Service Commission Building and the re-construction of Ugep urban roads.

Also, approved by the Governor is the rehabilitation of Odukpani-Akamkpa Electrification Network assessee under direct labour.

Furthermore, he also approved special intervention for the restoration of KADA Cenema at the Marina Resort, recently gutted by fire.

He has also approved Land Development Services by the Nigerian Agricultural Mechanization and Equipment Leasing Company(NAMEL).

Governor Otu in addition, approved revival of Diary Farms at Obudu Cattle Ranch Resort, in Northern Senatorial District.

He has approved 3D Digital Survey of the Obudu Ranch Resort in preparations for full restoration of business operations.

Meanwhile, Commissioner for Information Hon. Erasmus Ekpang, reported Governor’s commitment to extend road infrastructure.

He also promised re-construction of internal roads to Ogoja, Ikom and Ugep.

He committed complete the Boki East-West road,Yahe-Ebo-Izekwe-Wanokom-Wanikade-Benue border road,Oban road in Akamkpa as well as Adiabor-Odukpani-Itu road.

For instance, he promised that the Ogoja Stadium, Institute of Technology and Management,(ITM) Ugep and Teachers Continuous Training Institute of West Africa(TCTI) Biase, will be renovated.

Truth Live News learned that the Governor Otu presided over the meeting with exhaustive deliberations.

Commissioners and other members in attendance presented to him different Memos.

In line with his administration’s drive for investment, he said, agricultural revolution programmes in different crop areas will be sustained.

Thus, creating employment and promoting food security for Small Holders Farmers across the State.
