Cross River State, Deputy Governor Rt Hon. Peter Odey has bagged a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Peace and Conflict Management from the University of Calabar.
Upon a successful completion and defence of his research thesis, the University of Calabar on Saturday, 23rd March, 2024, awarded him PHD.
This award followed five years of rigorous research which clearly shows one of the most fulfilling academic efforts of Dr. Peter Odey.
With this achievement, Dr Odey has proved himself an avid seeker of knowledge whose quest has still not reached his academic Rubicon.
At the convocation ceremony Dr Odey was absent, however, he followed the event proceedings remotely via Zoom.
Although, his absence was due to his participation in a state function outside the country.
Furthermore, Dr. Odey studied Sociology in the University of Calabar and upon graduation, proceeded to study Law at the same University.
In addition, he has also earned Master’s degrees in Political Sociology and International Relations (specializing on Peace and Conflict Resolution) from the University of Leuven, Belgium, and the London Metropolitan University, respectively.
The deputy Governor’s education and mental prowess clearly showed that he is a man prepared for leadership that will lead to the development of Cross River State.
After five years of dedicated studies he has distinguished himself as an academic of no mean repute.
Dr Odey has been an example in resilience, focus and dedication for all young people, investing his youthful years in various fields of education.
