A’Ibom Govt Proposes Increase In Pension Of Pensioners

Akwa Ibom state government has proposed an increase in the Pension of pensioners who retired before 2012.

This contained in a memo received by the State Executive Council notifying it of the increase on Wednesday.

In an excerpt of the meeting of the state Exco, the Hon Commissioner for Information Comrade Ini Ememobong said the Exco delibrated on the memo for the increase.

Afterward, it referred to Hon. Commissioner Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Frank Archibong, for consultation with the LGA.

He said that was the decision to be taken by next week.

Also, the Managing Director of Savannah Energy Ltd, Andrew Allister Knott, presented an interim Technical Audit report on Ibom Power Company Limited.

The report highlighted critical internal and external issues hampering the progress of the company.

Again, the Council discussed the report and charged the company to submit a comprehensive and final report, to enable a concrete decision on the way forward.

Additionally, the Consultant, on Dakkada Skills Acquisition Center Mr. Churchill Udoh presented a report indicating the faculties that are ready for commencement.

The council also deliberated on the report and forwarded to a sub-committee for further deliberation.

On his part, the Hon. Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Sir Charles Udoh, briefed the council that Four staff of his Ministry will be participating in the 2024 China-Aid Training Programme.

He said it is a seminar on Tourism Capacity Building for English-Speaking African Countries from 11th-24th April 2024.

Truth Live News learned that the Governor Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, presided over the meeting which commenced by midday.

The Governor, welcomed members to the meeting and intimated that the meeting will undertake an extensive review of Ministerial projects, programmes, and policies, and evaluate performance.

Meanwhile, In attendance include, the Deputy Governor, the Secretary to the State Government, the Head of the Civil Service, Commissioners, and Special Adviser.
