Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, has charged the State Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Jummai Babson, to find time after work to own a farm.
The Governor gave her the charge when he paid unannounced visit to the new NIS Headquarters in Uyo.
While addressing the officers of the State Command, Governor Eno emphasized that anything she plant can go along way to help.
He said: “Please find time after work to own a farm, even if it is at the back of your house so that we can help bring down the price of food items.”
“Anything you plant here can help,” he added..
Meanwhile, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Ekerete Udoh, made this known in a Facebook post on Friday April 5, 2024.
Moreover, he commended the neatness of the environment of the headquarters and the neatness of officers.
He further observed that this was the culture and the norm of operations in the headquarters.
“You didn’t really know that I was coming,” the Governor said. “I came here today to do my capturing in Akwa Ibom because I also wanted to see the command and the Comptroller in her office.”
“Thank you for the work you are doing, and cooperating with other security agencies to keep Akwa Ibom safe.”
As a result, he announced the donation of a power generating set to the Command headquarters with assurance of linking the command to the national grid as well.
Additionally, he charged officers and men of the command to go into farming in line with his food sufficiency and price stability plan for the State.

Earlier, the State Comptroller of NIS, Jummai Babson, commended the Governor for his support to the command.
Nevertheless, she assured the governor of the determination of the officers and men of the command to work for the safety of the State.
