In a significant political maneuver, Amb. Odion Cedrack Okpeboholo (OCO), a former APC Governorship Aspirant and ex-National Chairman/founder of the Glassroots Development Party of Nigeria (GDPN), has made a notable shift in allegiance by officially joining the ranks of the PDP.

The declaration of his defection took place at his ward in PDP Ward 5, Esan North East LGA.

This decision, laden with political significance, underscores Amb. Okpeboholo’s unwavering belief in the PDP’s capability to sustain and propel Edo’s development trajectory, building upon the foundation laid by the incumbent Governor, His Excellency Godwin Obaseki. With the forthcoming Edo 2024 elections and the candidacy of Barr. Asue Ighodaro and Osarodion Ogie, Amb. Okpeboholo expresses his confidence in the PDP’s potential to effectuate transformative change and restore Edo’s former eminence.

Central to Amb. Okpeboholo’s rationale is the collective wealth of experience and vision that the PDP leadership brings to the table. He envisions a collaborative effort that will usher in a new era of progress and prosperity for Edo State.

Furthermore, Amb. Okpeboholo has taken proactive steps to consolidate his political structure, effectively directing all his supporters from across the 18 local government areas of the state to align with his newfound allegiance to the PDP. This strategic move underscores his commitment to fostering unity and cohesion within the party, thereby enhancing its overall strength and electoral prospects.
