EID-El-fitri: EDHA Speaker, Agbebaku Calls For Adherence To Love, Peace

The Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku has called for the adherence to the virtues of the holy month of Ramadan which foster love and peaceful co-existence.

He disclosed this in his goodwill message to the Muslim faithful in the state and all over the world as they mark the EID-el-fitri celebration.

Rt. Hon. Chief Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku stated that the Eid-el- fitr climaxes the Ramadan period which featured fasting, prayers, and alms giving ,has been a period where people show love, compassion and empathy to one another especially the indigents and vulnerable in the society.

“the religious seasons and celebrations are significant in the society.

“The values they portray and the significance they hold point to every faithful the essence of tolerance, peace, love, compassion, endurance and forgiveness.

“The love exhibited during the period of fasting should be sustained, as it reminds us of our importance to one another and the greater achievements we can attain as one united indivisible entity”, Agbebaku said.

He admonished all Muslim faithful that the prayers offered during the period of Ramadan should be complimented with action that will gear the needed socio-economic, cultural, religious and developmental progress needed with the Edo and beyond.

“I wish to appreciate the peaceful co-existence we have maintained despite our ethno-cultural and religious differences. May the blessings of the Almighty Allah be freely bestowed on us now and always”, Agbebaku prayed.
