Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the gubernatorial candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming September elections in Edo State, received a resounding show of support from the Arewa Women Group in Benin City on Tuesday.
Led by their esteemed leader, Hajia Sadiatu, accompanied by the group’s secretary, Khadija Abubakar, the Arewa Women Group declared their unwavering endorsement of Ighodalo’s candidacy.
In a heartfelt address during the meeting, Hajia Sadiatu expressed the group’s unequivocal support, affirming, “We are here to register our presence and to assure the candidate of the PDP, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, that you are the one we are supporting. And that we will support you from beginning to the end and that you will win by the grace of God.”
Graciously receiving the endorsement, Ighodalo expressed profound gratitude to the women’s group for their unwavering support and affection. He pledged to diligently work towards enhancing the quality of life for all residents of Edo State, stating, “I want to thank all of you very sincerely. Thank you for your support and your love. I promise you to work very hard to make Edo State a place that you can live in and work in and be happy in. Also, I promise you that I will not disappoint you and that I appreciate you so very much.”
The meeting rounded up with a brief prayer session, led by Hajia Sadiatu, where the Arewa Women Group fervently sought divine intervention for Ighodalo’s success in his campaign endeavors leading up to the elections later this year.
